"My meditation experience has been a cumulative effect that can only be attributed to keeping regular in my practice. Almost immediately friends said they noticed a change, like I seemed calmer. I didn’t really notice but I just kept doing it anyway, and over time I realized my anxiety and panic had been melting away. I can’t say I really know if I’ve ‘transcended” or what that actually is. But if transcending means going beyond, then In my case it manifests as going beyond what I’ve been (or just always thought I was), shifting internally toward a deeper, kinder self acceptance and subtle, integrated power. As I connect more to this ease within I realize that it is not a “hallelujah” experience but rather that I am transcending bit by bit every day gaining in strength, resilience and yes, peace."
